This morning the Rotary Club of Hutt City reported:
Everyone was smiling at the art auction and fundraiser at Government House last Friday with all the money raised going to the Lloyd Jones Bougainville Library Trust. Our Governor-General, Rt Hon Sir Anand Satyanand raced back from the Royal Wedding in London to make sure he could have his picture taken with members of the Hutt City Rotary Club!
It is worth noting that Sir Anand is a Paul Harris Fellow and former member of the Wellington Rotary Club.
Also last night the Rotary Club of Kapiti reported:
President Murray welcomed our guests, new Honorary Member, and Governor General Designate Jerry Mateparae and his wife Janine, and Alison Edwards, wife of Dave Edwards.Dave Edwards introduced our new Honorary Member, Jerry Mateparae, and announced that he had been presented an Honorary Degree from Massey University. President Murray welcomed Jerry to the club and presented him with dinner badges for himself and Janine, and a certificate that he hoped would be displayed at Government House. Jerry was advised that he was welcome to attend the club at any opportunity he had, in his busy schedule.
