Why am I a Rotarian?

One of the reasons I continue to enjoy Rotary is that I can make a significant impact through activities of my Club or by working together with other Clubs both locally, nationally and internationaly.  Projects within our community include supporting a local college Peer Support programme encouraging mentoring of junior students by senior students.  Another local project gaining momentum is the raising of funds for another ambulance for the Greater Wellington region.  And then there are projects making a 'world' of difference.  Every Rotary Club is encouraged to contirbute to The Rotary Foundation.  Through close association with the World Health Organisation, Rotarians' contributions are making significant progress in eradicating this debilitating disease from our planet.  And I am part of this effort.  I am proud to be a Rotarian doing good in the world.

Rugby World Cup Hosting

An exciting project is getting underway in District 9940 with the hosting of fellow Rotarians from around the world attending the 2011 Rugby World Cup here in New Zealand.  A web site has been set up and interest has already been shown from places such as South Africa and England.  You can visit the web site http://www.rotarydistrict9940rugbyhosting.com/ for more information.
