Petone - on the foreshore and at the forefront of change

President Pam - ideas coming
to full bloom
We had a great night (yet another) as we visited Petone.  Our Board meeting was held upstairs at the famous Petone Lighthouse Theatre where we discussed membership challenges, the need to promote their activities in the community and the need to activate the findings of their Visioning session held in July.  Here is another Club who punches well above its weight - contributing in a real positive way to the Petone community - their main activity being the Petone Rotary Fair held annually in February.  The meeting in the local Cafe Caffiend was warm, wonderful food and welcoming.  I spoke of the need for the Club to find what was 'gold' in their programme and to sell that to new potential members.  President Pam had here own way to innovate and make changes as she replaced the bell with her tinkling 'gong'.  Here is a Club with heaps of experience and loads of ideas and ready to move positively into a new territory.  It was also a great pleasure to award Paul Harris Fellows to two very deserving and long-serving members who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes - Bernie Hall and David Gratton.  It was also good to see the honorary members present including Maureen Freeman.  Well done Petone - see you all at Old St Pauls on the 31 October.
