A Free 'Rotary' Ambulance for Wellington
Yesterday (Thursday 8 July), I had the pleasure to join other local Wellingtonian Rotarians to present a cheque for $66,000 to CEO Alan O'Beirne. This was the result of much hard work, especially for Rotarian John O'Connell and the Rotary Club of Harbour City Wellington. The thrill of the occassion was not only the handing over the funds raised, but also to actuallly view the new Ambulance, complete with branding. The theme of being bigger and bolder in our community has received a new form - on four wheels and 'buidling communities' in the greater Wellington region. PDG David Watt, past AG Gillian Jones, Operations Manager Peter Cain, and Fund Raising Manager James Craw were all present on this significant day for Rotary in our Community. Absent on the day but very much working in the background was Bill Day form Port Nicholson. The Clubs who contributed to this achievement will be listed on the Ambulance which is already in service!!
