Last week we learnt about some of the important issues that occupy the minds of our Mayor and other local government Councillors at both a strategic, regional and local level. We vest our delegation to manage such matters on our behalf, to our elected representatives, every three years at the local government elections. But it is surprising isn’t it, that only around 30% of eligible New Zealanders’ actually bother to vote in these elections.Don’t forget your postal vote for your community representatives : 17 Sept – 9 Oct.
