Upper Hutt - their programme goes sky-high!

President Kevin Alkema
Friendship is the glue!
Jenny and I visited Upper Hutt Club this evening.  A Club who has a big impact in their community - especially around Guy Fawkes when they entertain the community with their huge fireworks display, along with family entertainment and a real safety message to schools on how to enjoy this festival.  As well as this mafor event they sponsor children to be involved in the Blue Light programme with the local police as well as collecting food on the 'Goodwill Express'.  And then not to forget the work they have been involved with the Rotary Club of Cochabamba Norte in Bolivia, giving young children surgery to fix cleft palate abnormalities.  Their Pride of Workmanship Award evening also attracts some 100 attewndees and has been going for the last 11 years.  AG Mark and Anna supported us as we joined President Kevin and the Club for a meal and then to listen to me deliver my 38th address.   It was good to learn that IPDG David Watt was to speak next week followed by Dave Wilson (our very own District ERK Crusader).
