Good sort!

Watching TV One news tonight I was thrilled to see Len Kenna from Courtenay Place Rotary Club working with children at the local school.

Watch the video here ...

The TV One web page says:
"Good Sort" Len Kenna is a master of the sometimes forgotten art of listening.
Every Thursday Kenna sits down with children at Mt Cook School in Wellington to help them master the English language.
Now 89 years old, Kenna started his rotary readers group nearly 10 years ago. He and eight of his friends help children who are learning English as a second language.
Kenna said he enjoys contributing to the well being of the children.
"If they can't read, they are lost, aren't they?" he said.

Our reading in schools is a wonderful and very effective programme which is making its mark to many young people's lives as they receive one on one attention with their reading.

Well done Ken (and you were proudly wearing your Rotary badge)!!!!
