Eastern Hutt - A Changeover to celebrate!

Out with the old - President Deane and DG Howard
I time to celebrate service - to induct a new member, to recognise the service of a Past District Governor's partner, to congratulate those who have given such great service to the District, to the community and to the Foundation.
This was a night with much to celebrate as well as a time to enjoy the friendship we have aplenty in our great organisation.
And then Councillor Ken Laban spoke so well of the need to look after our youth, to plan for the future and to win the Rugby World Cup (or did I hear him say - it is our to lose!) And he paid tribute to the Crusaders who have continued to do well even with their community torn apart with the recent events.
The achievements of outgoing President Deane were described and the plans for the incoming President David were presented to members.  A great year is planned with a build up to their 50th anniversary.
And in with the new - AG Ian Grigor and
incoming President David

And the grace went something like this:
"Sometimes we might eat without awareness, talk without awareness, even live, love or hurt without awareness.  Lord, do not let this be one of those times, but may we be fully and joyfully aware of who we are, where we are and how blessed we are.  May peace embrace the world.  Amen."
