Interesting to hear from Xaver Hausner, an Ambassadorial Scholar, about his life
in Germany. He did well to get us all to sing in German. Great that he has taken on the “Journey of Hope” which in his words is:
“November 2010-February 2011 - we plan to cycle the length of New Zealand from Cape Reinga in the north to Bluff in the very south. We will start our trip at the end of November after the exams are finished and want to be in Bluff by the middle of January.
We divided the length of the trip (3350 km) into 250 pieces, which we will try to sell to all of the Rotary Clubs in New Zealand. The minimum price is 13.4 NZD per piece, as we want to raise at least 1 NZD for each kilometre. The whole sum will be donated to Rotary International’s PolioPlus campaign to support the goal in raising $200 million USD by the end of 2012.”
