Over 30 of the members of the Rotary Club of Eastern Hutt (more than half the members) were involved, recently, in planning, running and playing in a Charity Golf Tournament in aid of Te Omanga Hospice. For the first time, 3 separate 9 hole Ambrose tournaments were held, simultaneously, at the Boulcott's Farm Heritage Golf Club, in conjunction with the Club. (formerly Hutt Golf Club)
172 players made up 43 teams and their support, the generosity of local companies and individuals in sponsoring holes, donating some excellent prizes for the raffles and donating valuable and well sought after goods for the Auction resulted not only in a cheque for $10,000 being presented to Biddy Harford (CEO of the Hospice) but also $3,000 to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.
