Our club‟s contribution towards making the 2009 Special Olympics the outstanding success that they were was recognized by Rotary International, in the form of a Significant Achievement Award. The Asian Pacific director has commented that they were the best games he has seen (outside of Special Olympics World Games, which are professionally run). Graham Harrison, Ross Carpenter, Grant McCaskie, Mike Christie and Jenny Robson (in absentia) were presented with their certificates. Scott Bruce summed it up aptly with, “This showed what Rotary can achieve when we put our hearts and souls into a project”.
