Government primary schools need help with school supplies, library shelving, roofing and ceiling repairs, plumbing, water proofing, water tanks and, where practical, water filtering and catchment.
School playgrounds are usually bereft of climbing frames and raised balance walk ways etc.
PP John’s advice is that it is usually best to find a school to "adopt" and to work with the PTA and Principal over time. John advises visiting the school to meet with those involved and get a feel for their needs. It isn't hard to find a needy school. Part of the issue is to maintain the linkage as people in Rotary positions shift, although one-off assistance is also welcome. John has past wish lists as examples to give Clubs an idea of what is needed - often everything from school materials, white boards and sports goods to scrubbing brushes, buckets for cleaning and toilet paper.
