Rotary Peace Centers would like to congratulate the selected 2011 Rotary Peace Fellows and the districts who endorsed them! We would also like to thank all districts who dedicated time and energy to interviewing and supporting 2011 applicants. Your enthusiasm for the program created an inspiring pool of applicants and gave the Rotary Peace Centers Committee a welcomed but challenging task of selecting Class 10.
In total, we received 264 applications this year. Each application was read and scored by two of our committee members or advisors. The selected Class 10 fellows represent the most promising peace builders from across the globe.

We currently have Victoria Cochrane undertaking a 2009-11 Rotary World Peace Fellowship at Bradford University, UK.
Mary Stanley’s attendance at the “short” Peace Studies course in Thailand has been deferred by TRF until 2011 at our request due to the unrest in that country at the time the 2010 course was to commence. Advice on this was obtained from the NZ Ambassador in Bangkok.
Elaine Pratley has been nominated and accepted for the 2011 “short” Peace Studies course. Her special focus is on the contribution that youth can play and should be encouraged to do so, in post-conflict reconstruction and the restoration of harmony in divided communities. The theme of Youth and Peace-Building underpins the thesis for a Masters degree in International Relations she will complete early next year. She has impressive tertiary qualifications.
We had no applicants for the 2011-2013 Masters programme this year.
