Rotary Action Groups

In 2005 the RI Board of Directors created a new type of Rotary entity called Rotarian Action Groups. Rotarian Action Groups are groups of Rotarians, Rotarian spouses, and Rotaractors who join together to conduct projects in a particular area of service. Each Rotarian Action Group is officially recognized by the Board, but functions independently of Rotary International, with its own governance and administrative structure.

There are currently 14 recognized Rotarian Action Groups, which have a combined membership of over 27,000 people in more than 100 countries worldwide. These 14 groups address the following issues:

• AIDS
• Blindness Prevention
• Blood Donation
• Dental Volunteers
• Diabetes
• Disaster Relief
• Health Fairs
• Hunger and Malnutrition
• Malaria
• Microcredit
• Multiple Sclerosis
• Polio Survivors
• Population and Development
• Water and Sanitation
