News Flash - news from Foxton!

Tonight Jenny and I travelled up to Foxton with IPDG David Watt and Michele to join 6 other Past District Governors and some of their partners to make a very special announcement.

DGE Bob and PDG Tony congratulate DGNN Deb
I had much pleasure in advising the members of Foxton Club that Assistant Governor Deborah Gimblett has agreed to be our District Governor Nominee (Nominee) for 2013-2014.Thanks to President Charlie and Chrissy for looking after us so well.

Deb and Neville live and work in Foxton. Deb was President of Foxton Club in 2007/8 (DG Pat Waite). She was a member of District membership committee in 2008/9 (PDG Tony Fryer), Chair of the Healthy Heroes programme in 2009/10 (IPDG David Watt) and is currently an Assistant Governor, Kapiti/Horowhenua (DG Howard Tong).  She was part of the National Immunisation Day team that travelled to India earlier this year and presented a report to District Conference on their experiences.  Her very supportive husband Neville was President of Foxton Club 2008/9.

My colleagues turned out in force to support Deb.
We announced this selection to the Foxton Club this evening and it was very well received by all.  Those fellow Presidents in the Cluster who could, also attended to show their support.  It was noted that the Foxton Club will be celebrating their 50th anniversary the year Deb is District Governor.

It was so good to have the support of DGE Bob Smith and Margaret, IPDG David Watt and Michele, PDG Tony Fryer, PDG Graham Douglass and Carlene, PDG Rodney Wong, PDG Allan Birrell and Heather, PDG Judy Bain, PDG John Cole and PDG Lindsay Knowles.

Unfortunately husband Nev Gimblett was not able to be present for the whole evening as he had to travel to Awapuni Club to give a presentation on the Polio National Immunisation Day visit to India in January - that was real service above self!
