District Grants - Future Vision in action

This week our District Grants Cordinator Brian Greaves (Plimmerton) received feedback from the various Clubs on their District Grants - here are 6 of the 12 Club's responses:

On 31 July Clubs submitted their applications and 12 of those Clubs have been successful in obtaining between them $29,497 of Foundation District Grant  funding.

Eastern Hutt:
I have been waiting for a reply from Stuart Batty of RNZWCS to our application for MFAT, New Zealand Aid Grants for two projects, the Bagh-Pathia Rainwater Harvesting Village project and the two Shyamaghat check dams for which we have received a District Grant.
I am pleased to tell you that last night I received an email from Stuart Batty to say that we have received interim approval for the two Grants.
The District Grant money has been received and is sitting in the Rotary Club of Eastern Hutt Charitable Trust account pending obtaining the balance.
Thank you for your support and your efforts on our behalf.  I will keep you advised of progress.

Courtenay Place

Yes, the Club has received the grant which is lodged in their account till I request it. I intend to send the bank Draft to the project administrators in Mumbai and expect to be there myself in February and follow progress. Once again I am most grateful to the District for their generous contribution.

Wellington South
Yes, it is indeed confirmed that we have received and banked the cheque. Thanks for all your work on the District Grants, we are proud to have been a part of the first round under the new scheme of things.

Wellington

Yes, I can confirm we have received the cheque around mid November along with the form to complete when we have spent the money.
I have set up a meeting with Wellington Free Ambulance to get the project under way (due to meet tomorrow) and anticipate we will start buying the defibrillators in the new year (probably February) onwards as funds are raised and the project unfolds.

Carterton
We are extremely grateful. Both healthy Heros and Dictionaries in Schools programmes are in progress and being received well by schools and the community. Both programmes will operate next year again and we are extending Healthy Heros to a second local school in conjunction with Enviroschools

New Plymouth Rotarians
Thanks to you both for your admirable effort.  We are very excited as the order for the bladder scanner has now been placed, at a really good price of $13,000.
As you are aware, our grant is $3,825 so our Rotarians, with the help of many in the community, businesses and community folk, all chipped in to make up the $9175. We wish you and your loved ones a very peaceful, blessed and safe festive season.

Taranaki

Yes thankyou so much. On behalf of our Cluster Taranaki 2, I recently presented a cheque for $3300 to buy 6 Palliative Care mattresses
